Mums who started folic acid supplementation before conception were nearly 60 per cent less likely to have an abnormally small baby.

26 Mar 2009 Vitamin trial in cancer
A trial published in the April issue of the Journal of the National Cancer Institute has found that men and women taking a combination of vitamins had a reduced risk of dying that persists for 10 years after taking the supplement. The vitamin combination also reduced the risk of oesophageal cancer in people under the age of 55 years.
